Mapsource error

Suddenly I keep getting this error running mapsource. I've uninstalled and reinstalled so many time but could not make it work anymore.

Can anyone help me here, could not upload my tracks and waypoints now.

It was previously installed and working... as per Jan's Instructions in an email to me.

Install Training center, install mapsource, installe demo map 5.08.

The installation went bad only after the Petron Challenge run. I don't know what happened.

I have tried uninstalling all Garmin apps and re-installing but still get the same error messages.

- run regedit ; go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\Mapsource\Famil ies and delete the rustyboy key

Ok this one worked... for those who will encounter this problem also...

Run Regedit:

Delete the ff keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\Mapsource\Famil ies
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\Mapsource\Produ cts

then uninstall and re-install Training center, mapsource

then uninstall and re-install Training center, mapsource

this will remove ALL mapsets.
not advisable at all unless you have a severe problem.
removed sticky as this will create problems....

I would consider not being able to connect my garmin to mapsource for 3 mos. as severe problem kuya Jan.

why wait 3 months? i'm sure it could have been fixed without the brutal delete all method (although that's my favorite way as well)

hi gurus. after all installations are done and mapsource is opened, ive got this error: pls help.

Re-install

I have had similar problems and sent them off to Garmin. They said it was due to a conflict between different Garmin applications. I had to do a complete re-install off all Garmin software, including registry edits. I got the error message whilst trying to read TCX files from Edge 705. I had lots of problems reading 1 sec files from the 705, I thought it was a 705 problem but it is this conflict issue which I still have. I have largely got round it by being careful not to have lots of applications running at the same time, ie: TCX converter, mapsource, Ant Agent for 405, uploading to Garmin Connect. Still occasionally get a problem reading the 705 files (repeated overlapping sections) so I just reboot and the problem goes away.

Suggest you send garmin the error log and see what they say.

I have also the same situation here in my PC.

I deleted the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\Mapsource

Uninstall all the related programs of Garmin Training Center and Garmin MapSource

Install Garmin Training Center and Garmin MapSource and now it's working again.
As Jan said, drawback will remove all your mapsets.
