MapSource software version 6.15.4

Im afraid i might ruin my 6.13.7 version.

i'm using this version now and still learning from it, i just click the help button and check for software updates on my mapsource and it automatically updates to version 6.15.4, no problem so far.

question about mapsource updates.

If we update our mapsource and copy the map to our units, does that mean that the software of our units are updated too?

What "software of our units" ? If you mean the Nuvi, it's another firmware update and specific for the Nuvi. Mapsource update is only for... Mapsource.

anyway tried this new update so far so good. Its just its kind of slow compared to my old version.

Thanks for sharing. In that case, i'll will wait for more feedbacks nalang before i take the plunge too... . No problems with 6.13.7 so far, so no urgent or compelling reason really to upgrade.

HELP!! Having problems with Mapsource

I am having a problem with my mapsource. If I try to open it a window pops out that say "there is a problem with the Rustyboy installation. Please re-install Rustyboy and start Mapsource again."

What on earth is the Rustyboy application?

I tried uninstalling my Training Center and Mapsource and installing both of them again, the same problem comes up.

Help.

What should I do?

- run regedit ; go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\Mapsource\Famil ies and delete the rustyboy key

as it says. some parts of the map dont display correctly with the later mapsource versions.

How to install Mapsource without Garmin Device

1.0 Download and SAVE mapsource software version 6.13.6 - Do not use the latest version.

2.0 Extract using winRAR

3.0 RUn/launch MAIN.exe

4.0 Run/launch Setup.exe

5.0 Run/launch Philippine demo map version 1.05

6.0 You can now mapsource as per normal.

Above worked for me.. I found this workaround in one of the websites, it really worked... thanks to them

using 6.15.7

just installed the latest version, no problems so far, with regards to maps and waypoints. will update if any problems show up
