* Fixed selection issue (waypoints were not de-selected when selecting a track before).
* Fixed an issue where MapSource did not remember the grid setting correctly.

* Fixed sort by number of via points in the route tab.
* Fixed an issue with spot soundings.
* Fixed a Polish localization issue.
* Made MapSource more robust when encountering invalid map products.

The last bullet scares me. Anyway, we'll see in a few minutes how "robust" the new version is.

i had to debunk by garmin folders in my cpu to downgrade to the precious version.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UPGRADE YOUR MAPSOURCE TO THIS VERSION. You'll end up looking for the thread on how to downgrade your mapsource.

I found MapSource software version 6.16.3 here http://www8.garmin.com/support/downl...ils.jsp?id=209 Does this version work with the map? Does this version offer any substantial improvement? If it does, should it be made a part of the sticky after testing? I searched for 6.16.3 but did not find any discussion. If it has been discussed, could you point me to the thread?

PS I have been a consumer of GPS products for years. I am looking forward to contributing to the refinement of the map.

I just spotted this - I guess I will NOT install the latest update without some input from members of this site!

2. this is the actual install. load the 6.13.7 program version as the later ones are below par. this program does the communication between your pc and your gps. it also allows you to edit your tracks and waypoints.

PS This above is from 2008. I need to slow down. I going over the speed limit and my GPS is not warning me!!

Mapsource higher than 6.15.7 - Incompatible to RG Map
Do not upgrade your mapsource to version 6.15.11 / 6.16.1 / 6.16.2 / 6.16.3. These versions are not compatible with third-party Garmin maps, resulting in locked maps. Stick with version 6.13.7 or the latest known working version, 6.15.7.

For those who have a Garmin map and want to get the latest version, do a dual installation as advised by jonatle. Upgrade one version and keep the other one for viewing roadguide map.

If I had been patient, your post could have saved me a lot of time reading threads. On the other hand, this is a new field for me and I have a lot to learn.
