It has become obvious that we all need to start using basecamp, because it is way easier for newbies to install (no need for training Center, Gstart or what not, that is associated with Mapsource), but also it is more compatible with the latest Garmin units (Mapsource is now unsupported by Garmin).
Attached is a PDF file for download for newbies to use as a guide on how to install Basecamp and the RG freemap. This is to get you started. I will try to see if I can also post a guide on how to upload the RG freemap onto your Garmin Unit.
But to all newbies, please keep in mind, although you are getting the RG Freemap V2 for free, and it is quite a substantial map in terms of coverage, it is not the latest version. We highly recommend you to not only install the RG freemap, but also the latest Demo map http://roadguide.ph/forums/showthrea...atest-Demo-Map for a sneak peek of what you could have (Don't install it on your unit, it will not work). Installing the Demo map is also the first step in learning how to become a contributor, so that you can be eligible to download and use the contributor map.
