How are the roads to Baguio?

I'm off from Manila to Baguio on Thursday. I'm getting mixed reports on the road conditions on McArthur Hiway and Marcos Hiway.

I heard there are some rerouting due to the Typhoon Juan.

Has anyone come from Baguio this past few days.

I just called Victory Liner, Philippine Rabbit and Dagupan Liner. And they all said there are no bad roads, rerouting or longer travel times.

I'm leaving at 1am so I don't want to take the alternate route.

    Thanks in advance.

I live in Baguio and drove up last Saturday with no problems. Even Kennon Rd is OK. Don't forget to do some mapping when you are up here!!

That's great news. Thanks JDCOOPERPH. Will see what I can map. I don't know if Hill Station Restaurant is on there already.

Sorry Hill Station is not on the map! One for you to do. It is next to Barrio Fiesta restaurant which is on the map in upper Sessions Rd opposite SM. Easy to park in SM and walk across.

Just got back from Baguio last Monday. Roads are great on McArthur and Marcos Hiway.

I don't know what my friends were saying that Baguio was hit by the latest typhoon. Baguio was great.

              Panagbenga Festival in Baguio

Was up in Baguio for Panagbenga Festival end of February, and we traveled up the Marcos Highway. A few places it was just single lane due to washed out road. It was a good trip up and over the mountain. The previous month, we came down the Kennon Rd from Baguio, and that road was in good shape. A minimum toll was collected

                Baguio

Going to Baguio at the end of the month for the long weekend.
First time to drive there on my own, will be coming from Laguna.

I'm still using the old map on my Garmin.
Can someone send me the tracks for the Magilas trails.

Any tips? How are the roads going up? Any recommended places to stay?
                Thanks.

                    Just got back from Baguio..

Not sure what Mina was up to, we left the house almost 5AM.
                    SLEX - No problems
Edsa - A lot of road works (re-blocking???)
                    NLEX - No problems
MacArthur - took this route due to some concerns about flooding at Magilas (big mistake). There were a lot of road works along Tarlac and Pangasinan which made the trip 2hours longer!!!!

Marcos highway - After taking a break at the Rosario Gas Stations and checking with the people around regarding the road conditions going up and with Mina deciding to make herself felt. We decided to continue with our roadtrip, there were a lot of cars and vans along the way so it was nice having a few cars to lead the way. (Did I mention that this is my first time to go up to Baguio driving). Going up there were a lot of road works, which again added to the travel time. We safely reached the hotel in 1 piece and the kids enjoyed the adventure of going up with Mina - rain and wind, the road works, the fog, etc. All in all, it was a very nice experience/adventure.

And the contributors map helped a lot!!! Thanks RG!!!

Going down Baguio??? That a different adventure (took Magilas trail) :-)

                      McArthur always has potholes.

How was the Kenon or Marcos Hiway?

There were a lot of road repair along MacArthur

Kennon was was closed due to Typhoon Mina.
Marcos highway was just ok, there were also some road works. And due to Typhoon Mina, it made the trip going up more exciting (for the kids).
