Perhaps a lot of you already know this but I was happy to find out that gpx files can be opened by Excel. If I add some computations I can then get my speed per unit time and plot those on a graph.
The first graph is actual data taken this morning with 1-sec intervals. Total time plotted on this graph is 34 minutes.
The second graph is like zooming in on a particular time frame, 2 minutes in this case.
So if I mount a GPS on my son's bike I now have a way to know if he is habitually over-speeding.
