For those who will have problems with firmware updates when using other region specific updates, Garmin will charge you big.
I almost had an issue with my 765 TWN was updated using a 2.3 Mal Sing firmware and couldnt be flashed back to 2.9 TWN. All is back to normal now, buti na lang. :-)
As per Garmin,

The problem you are experiencing will require your unit to come into Garmin. Please be noted that the repair fee USD$99 will be charged since the failure is due to unauthorized alterations.

So be careful when you play and be sure you know what to do. This is what they did to some US 765 nuvis that updated using the 2.9 TWN firmware. Taiwan releases features not found in other regions (e.g. US, rest of the world)
This is not a hack but just a force update using Garmin's updater.exe and it involves conversion of the GCD file to rgn.
