      Please do not BASH a company without specifying which model/s you have had bad experiences with. Please tell us what models of Lenovo and Asus you are referring to.

      My company has had good experiences with THINKPADs (both IBM and Lenovo-branded), and we also have 2 new Y330's and 1 S10. Granted, the Y330's and S10 are not even a year old yet, but they're still doing fine.

      Tech support is top-notch, as long as you go straight to the guys who do the troubleshooting and replacement/repair, not your vendor at the mall/computer shop.

      Our first bad experience with Lenovo, was a dead battery (extended, 8-cell for X61). I brought the unit to the tech support shop, they observed it and a day after, a potential replacement motherboard arrived at their shop. I decided to wait for the potential replacement battery before bringing back the unit, to save on gas. The day after that (2 days after first visit), they called me and I brought the unit back and tried the new battery first. Voila! Problem solved, and I heaved a sigh of relief because it wasn't the MoBo.

      It's been 11 months now, the battery's still holding up. Could be some freak fluctuation killed the original batt. :shrug:

      Oh, BTW, the Thinkpads with Platinum hinges are the best! :nod:

        Good for you then.

        I bought it on Dec 2008, and was told it had 1 year warranty. Now they tell me it's out of warranty na. I'm not good in math but that's not yet 1 year.

          I didn't say you're not allowed to bash.

          My point was, if you're unhappy with a certain product of theirs, you should've specified which one. For all you know, someone here was planning on getting the same model, and despite Lenovo's good image in their minds, they can avoid buying the same crappy model. But one crappy model doesn't really represent the whole company, right?

            You should contest that claim of theirs, then, by presenting your official receipt.

              Oh my apologies again sir. It's a SL400. I did contest and the service center still refuses. That is why I am ranting.

              One good thing is that with all the noise I'm making, I got an email from Lenovo HQ in Singapore saying that they will investigate the matter.
