Hi all.
Im inviting you to one heck of an event.
Visit www.ridenseekrally.com for details.
Heres a rough draft.
Get emailed a "rally book" late January. Everyone receives it at the same time.
The Rally Book has locations that are easy to almost impossible to find on a map/or mapping software. It will require research in Google Earth/Mapsource/Microsoft Streets and trips, and come integration software. The Rally book contains dozens of locations but there is an average speed that must be maintained and each location (bonus) earns points. He with the most points wins. It is impossible to get all the bonuses with in the time limit. so you not only have to choose efficient bonuses when you get started but then you must aquire the bonuses. Its not as easy as it sounds, and is EXTREMEMLY challenging as the "RALLY MASTER" does his best to earn the title of "RALLY BASTARD" as he does what he can do to try to loose you or trick you into not earning the bonus.
This is actually a competitive event using USA maps. All the software is free or can be gotten free to participate in the event.
If you want to become expert in GPS software and location research / navigation this will get you from a novice to an expert quickly.
Furthermore this is what is the basis for a real Long Distance rally.
Anyone up for this?
