New Joining the GPS Community

Just dropping a line to say hello to the group. I received an Oregon 300 as a gift and I'm hoping to get involved and contribute to the group...but first I need to learn how to use the device.

Wonder if this device is good for the mapping activities???

Hi Aldorankin and welcome to the forum. A handheld GPS device like your Oregon is always better than Nuvi's and phone/pda GPS. It gives the best track (set to record tracks at 1 sec) and is more versatile. Lots of info in the net on how to use the Oregon. Try to search for the Oregon yahoogroups. I've heard of such a group mentioned in my 60CSxyahoogroups. Lots of useful info you can learn there...
