newbie from scout area in qc

Im Pen of Scout area in QC and i was recently gifted by my GF a garmin nuvi
255w which she bought from the US i find your site very informative and very useful esp with the free downloads and everything keep it up and cheers to the web owners.

Im just wondering if theres anyone near my place who is willing to help me out downloading the Manila Map on my unit for in not that wise on how to download things to get my unit working locally and i have no USB cable to connect my unit to my computer.

I hope theres someone out there who is near myplace who can help me out i guess you may send me a private message then and thanks in advance.

does your nuvi have a sd card slot?
does your pc have a sd card writer?

if both are affirmative, create a /garmin/ folder on the sd card and copy the gmappsupp.img on the sd card

the cable is just a standard usb cable like on cams, portable harddisk's,...
costs about 150 pesos i think

hey spencer nice to here you got your unit already , well i got mine too , i hope you can stil remember me , by day we are neighbors , i had loaded the map and had tested it on scooters , so far it's not complete and lock details , maybe bec this is routable ver and not the contributor . im new to this also , but i can help you out on the loading of the map .
