Yeah maybe an external memory card slot (micro SD) for example.
It also might be possible that you can overwrite the current map with the 1.07, but make sure first which one is more accurate. We don't want you to end up "downgrading" your map and no way to reinstall the original one.
Can you confirm if your unit runs on Garmin Mobile XT though? If so please look for gmapsupp.img in your unit and back that up, that might be the preinstalled map, other file names might be there please read:
