just got a holux m1000 gps w bt
tried to use it w xt mobile on my palm life drive

sad thing is garmins xt mobile needs a garmin gps device to work
so there goes the garmin xt mobile solution...

want to try out tomtom nav 5 or 6

by chance will some good soul provide the philippine map which is for garmin in a format for tomtom ?

or is there a way to convert the garmin phil map to tomtom?

Thanks in advance for any help or point in the right direction.

    Welcome toyger!

First, the mapping or GPS hobby or maybe any hobby for that matter doesn't have anything to do with one's looks, age and economic status. The important thing is you're enjoying it.

About the Garmin Mobile XT, I have read in a few forum that it will work with any other BT GPS device. I don't have and use one so maybe others can help you here.

About the Tomtom device, I'm not sure if you can convert a Garmin map so you can use it with that device. Even if you can, you will still need the Phil routable map to convert from and you can only get hold of it (version 1.03) if you're a contributor.

    Thanks!

          hi toyger!

I am also a newbie and we first have the same problem. I am using HTC Diamond and using Garmin Mobile XT. For the maps, and installation you will find the links below useful.
