i'm a newbie who's planning to buy a gps unit ASAP!
would like to ask you guys which model would you recommend?
i'd like to be an active contributor,too. so please tell me which model fits best for contributing and can be used on my car.
i'm in the trucking/hauling business so i'm on the road most of the time.

welcome to rg. you've come to the right place. what gps unit to buy will depend on your purpose for having a gps. if you intend to have it in your vehicle, garmin nuvi will fit for it ( be sure that it can trace 1 second track ). if you want mapping or handheld category or battery life that can last for 15 hours, garmin colorado or oregon will be good for you. internal battery of nuvi last for only 4 hours. so you see, there are a lot of consideration to make.

try to visit garmin website so you can compare units and decide for yourself what unit to buy. entry level for vehichle is nuvi 255w.

just be sure to buy garmin product 'coz this site work well only with garmin unit.

and lastly, please read OVER AND OVER AGAIN on the "how to section". there are a lot of members that can help you with your querries. dont hesitate to ask.

60csx is also a good handheld gps, excellent tracks...a bit cheaper than docsam's colorado.

para when i travel may handheld ako and para makacontribute sa mga maps.
please recommend a unit na matagal na panahon hindi nako maguupgrade para one-time gastos nalang.
yung dabest units na naexperience nyo na.

nasa website ako ng garmin now eh and it's a little bit confusing.
kasi every model claims that it's the best model to fit my needs.
so di ko na alam which one.
bibili ako ng isang handheld at isang in-car eh.
which models are the best and top of the line?
para di nako maguupgrade in the future isang gastos nalang.

you are right sir about the 60csx. actually that was what i intended to buy but because of the higher resolution of colorado i opted to buy the colorado. may edad na kasi and i dont want to bring reading glasses.

and lastly, help me defend the 255w as entry unit for nuvi.

hahaha.
i think 205w has no voice guidance thats why i also consider 255w as entry level. min requirement for car navi gps: voice guidance, widescreen and whereiam feature.

for me its 1390. it has hands free calling.
if you want to add europe map, get 1370.

hi. im only good on commenting about colorado unit because that is what i have. im a very proud owner of it. i have read about mapping unit or handheld unit that has a touch screen capabilty that their downside is with the difficulty in pinpointing items in your map/screen.

this is my obsrvation abt my unit.. in doing mapping, because of the relative small screen, icons wont be as recognizable as the nuvi series. but if u use it in routing puurpose, no probs with it.

that is all i can share to you utubern. hope some members can enlighten you more on the nuvi series.

now my choices for the handheld unit has slimmed down to 2...the colorado 400t and the 60csx. thanks talaga you're info really helped.


regarding the nuvi series, i'm still not sure what to get but i think i got my eyes on the 885t. i hope someone would help me with this..
