Hi I bought my brother a nuvi 255w, is there a link on the step by step process on how I can install the PHI map so its ready to use when I send it to PHI. If not, kindly assist me on how to go about it.

Welcome to Roadguide abgee76. If you go over the "How to's" you'll be properly guided on how to get your nuvi up and running before you send it over. It would be best imho if you'll orient whoever gets your nuvi in the PI on how to become a contributor so she/he'll not get stuck with the free standard map which is very outdated.
