    Hi Jan and Borgie,

Thanks for the clarification. Couldn't reply because my internet connection went down for a few days. Could only browse, zero uploads, even replying takes so much time mostly reports an error.

Anyway, I only have experience on GMXT so I thought it's just the same. Funny thing though, I've read that some units allow you to enable and disable certain maps on the gpsr. Does that mean it is able to load multiple map files or just one map file with multiple maps contained in it?

In my case, I can load many map files and just rename the map I need to gmapsupp.img, very handy as there is no need transfer from mapsource everytime I change location. And I can do it anytime because my gpsr is running on windows.

My guess is, with nuvi's, if it is also possible to access the memory card via usb or card reader and just rename the old map into something else before you load a new map from mapsource. Then the only problem remaining would be to rename a map file instead of uploading it everytime you need it, but you would need a computer to do that.

Can I load two mapsets at a time? Anybody know the technic?
      Hi Roadguide,

I can't verify if this will work. You'll just have to proceed at your own risk.

Actually, you can combine different maps in mapsource by selecting said maps with the map tool then sending it to the GPS as one gmapsupp.img file. Then in your GPS, you can check/uncheck the maps you want shown. Imho, no need to be moving/renaming the gmapsupp.img file if you have enough space in the mc. I've tried this already with xt, gmpc & in the 60csx, works just fine. Although it's not advisable to have multiple maps covering the same area as it might mess up autorouting... HTH

            Hi Borgie,

Thanks for the quick reply. I see your point, I tried it already before. But since my unit is low on system memory... it's a clone that runs on win ce 5.0, what I have is a big memory card, ram is always low because many apps are running. I streamlined my maps so it won't slow me down.
