hi robertalmario, welcome to RoadGuide and enjoy your stay!
Be sure to read the How To Section, learn to contribute if your time permits, so that you can get the upgraded version of the map. It's awesome!
Hi robertalmario and welcome to Roadguide. The "How to" section is indeed the best place to browse and you can find the instructions on how to load the map to your GPS there... Hope to see your contributions soon...

To see where you are (Saudi Arabia?), go out to an open sky area and wait for the vista to acquire the satellites and lock on to your position (will take between 2-5 mins if you're stationary). You should see where you are in the map after the gps gets a satellite lock. A word of caution since you haven't loaded any maps yet except for the built-in map that came with your vista (which is the world base map & the US map), if you load the Philippine map (the standard map that you can get from Roadguide), it will overwrite the existing maps in the vista and if you are in Saudi, all you see would be a big blank. If you want both the world basemap and the Roadguide Philippine map, you must combine both maps in Mapsource (i'm assuming that the CD that came with your vista has a Mapsource installer along with the world basemap) before sending the maps to your vista... HTH
As for the Saudi maps, if there are Garmin dealers in your area, you can probably buy Garmin maps for the Middle East...
Is there no FREE maps for Saudi Arabia? I asked the garmin supplier here in Saudi Arabia and they are charging me 300 riyals for Saudi Arabia map only.

Is this correct Borgie? I'm not sure about the vista, but afaik the base map is GMAPBMAP.img while the detail map is GMAPSUPP.img. What is overwritten every time you upload from mapsource is only the GMAPSUPP. Please clarify... thanks.
I am but a figment of your imagination... with a post count of 9999 or greater.

For XT and the Nuvi maybe, there's a gmapbmap.img. But for gps handhelds like the Etrex, if you send maps to the device, it'll overwrite any existing map. This maybe harks to the time when internal memory of gps handhelds were very limited. And even today, Garmin's mid-range handheld gps have very small internal memories. Which makes us wonder why Garmin's so stingy in this department when the price of memories are going down, like for example now, you can buy an 8GB USB stick for less than 500 pesos at CDR king...
I tried that before. everytime that i will upload some maps, it's asking me if i want to overwrite the existing map.
is there other way to load a new map without overwriting the existing map?
I can only load one mapset at a time on my Nuvi 260W. It always overwrites the first one.
Can I load two mapsets at a time? Anybody know the technic?
