    GPX to GDB conversion

    Hi admins

I inadvertently saved my tracks in .gpx file.

Is there a way that I can still use the same of convert it so that I can process it in Mapsource.

Got some new waypoints and interesting routes when we travelled yesterday from Nueva Viscaya to Manila via San Simon Pampanga.

    Thanks in advance

Open the gps file in mapsource, save as gdb.

      Hi jan,

It says 'xxx.gpx could not be imported.'

No worries. You can either save your files as .gpx or .gdb and both files can be opened in Mapsource. The .gpx file is a generic file format and can be used with other applications like google earth. The .gdb file advantage is that it's file size is smaller than that of the .gpx... HTH

I use mapedit to open gpx file then click file export as gdb then save... I can then open the new file in map source for further editing

During our testing of Navitel someone pointed out that choosing GPX for tracks in Navitel is not a good idea, it's in the FAQ for Navitel I think. Best to try one of those converters mentioned mapedit and such.
