removing the keypad from the screen

how do you remove the keypad from the screen after you input the text that you need to search?

this is a problem sometimes because when there are more than one entries
searched, it only shows 1...

what keypad from where? in what program? on what platform?

oh im sorry...

its a garmin xt installed on a htc tytn ii

when u click the search... there is a bar wherein u can type in the
name that you are searching... however, you can only see 1 result there

even if there are a lot because the key pad could not be adjusted to
minimize on screen

You cant remove the keypad,
What I do is after I entered the name on the search area, I wait at least a few seconds then click "Done" and all the searched names will appear on the screen

I have HTC 3G and it doesnt have a slideout keypad like tytn II.
I am not sure this will work but in the GMXT TOOLS menu, click SETTINGS, then SYSTEM,then click the arrow down and when you see the menu "Device has Keypad, click it and select yes. then see if you still have virtual keypad in your GMXT.

yup, it is still there... i thought that it will be removed when i click that option

oh btw, the search function gives you the closest matches right? what if it is not what you want? how do you search for it?

ex when i type terraces, it gives me the locations in manila with terraces in it
however, i want the one in banaue... how do i search for it?

apparently it's not finding the "scenic areas" will be fixed in 1.06

i dont know what is wrong, but when i search for example for terraces viewpoint in benguet, it is in the map in my computer but not in the gps.
almost all the ones with "camera labels" in the computer couldnt be found (the ones that i searched along the road to sagada.

is this what you mean the scenic spots could not be searched?

yep that's it. will be fixed in 1.06
they are there now, they re just not searchable

that is why im bringing my laptop for everything else that my phone does not have... manual mode

jan: i forgot to tell you... i find my garmin weird,
you gave a tip a few posts back how to search using the
"near" function. even the net and manual is telling
me this

the thing is... there is no near button there to click
