error downloading waypoints, routes, tracks

Hello Guys,

I'm using Nokia E90 and Garmin Mobile XT 5. When I download the waypoints, routes, tracks (i tried one at a time), I get this error:

How did you download your waypoints, routes & tracks? What do you mean by one at a time? The correct way in XT would be to go to Tools/Manage my Data/ then press Manage (at lower left corner of screen), then Export GPX. All your data will be exported to the current.gpx file located in your MC card's Garmin folder, under the sub-folder named GPX. Extract/copy this current.gpx from your MC to your PC and open in Mapsource. You should be able to see all your saved data with no error problems...

Btw, what Mapsource version are you using?

I would never have guessed!

It was a human error. Your way worked like a charm!

This is what I was doing, in MapSource (6.15.4)::

1. Connect my phone as Data Transfer
2. Click the Receive from Device icon
3. Select what to download - waypoints, routes, tracks (tried selecting one at a time, or all of those three)
4. click receive.

I would never have guessed to do something on the phone first.

You can't do as you did with XT. It's a software. Mapsource will only recognize compatible GPS hardware, like receivers, data loggers & etc. Now that your data is in Mapsource, pls. read the"How to's" to properly prepare your data for upload and contribution.
