garmin xt problem, satellite reception

    garmin xt problem, satellite reception

    this happened to me a couple of times already,

    i am using the unit, then all of a sudden i lose satellite connection
    i could not reconnect again, when i go to remote gps and look at
    the details, there are no satellites there, what happened here?

    maybe 30 mins or so before it starts looking again for a satellite but it
    still could not connect propoerly.

    this also happened to me while i was on top of a mountain, i was trying to use it to check my altitude, i am sure that there are no obstructions there or anything...

    tried rebooting and everything but still... nothing...

    btw, phone is a htc tytn2

    Try re-installing everything... HTH

      This is usually the case with integrated GPS receivers in mobile phones. I got fed up with mine (Samsung i780) that's why I got a dedicated GPS.

      Anyway, it would sometimes help if you enable Enhanced GPS Settings (Start>Settings>System) XTRA download. Downloading the XTRA data will allow the GPS receiver to know what satellites to look for for the next X number of days, and theoretically makes acquisition faster (ie. anywhere between 0.5-5 mins, as per my experience).

          nope. no compatibility issues since i was using it for months already

          i reinstalled everything and so far its working fine

            I have HTC Touch 3G and this happened to me a few times too.
            What i did was close the GMXT program,update QuickGPS and restart GMXT.
            Works everytime
