Advantage? They're dirt cheap! With the right connections, you can get one for about 4k only. That's about the only advantage you can get, unless you factor in the cost of the original garmin software.
Now, here's the problem... They run on windows CE. So far, I haven't encountered any unit with a native Garmin program on it. Fact is, Garmin mobile XT was written for Windows Mobile and Symbian OS only. Although it is possible (actually, very easy) to install XT on Windows CE, there are some inevitable disadvantages. For one, it runs slower. Another is the display quality and resolution, part of the map is wrapped around to the other side. It is also more prone to program crashes, not to mention there are some kinks when working with Mapsource.
So take your pick... China PND or original Garmin.
