Tried this already but still no 1-sec track. Will try again. Bought 255W around May 2010.

If I remember correctly the Nuvi 500 series had the Logs at:

          Garmin Nuvi(H Garmin/Logs

We didn't have to unhide anything. Note that the drive letter might be different.

Also if you can, try to search using your windows file search the Garmin Nuvi drive for the last files that were added or edit. Specially if you recently made 1sec tracks. You could also just turn on your GPSR for maybe 5 minutes and then turn off then connect to your PC and then search for the latest files made or updated. Sorry I'm using a Win7 not very familiar with the search feature of this latest stoffidity of an OS. look for GPS.bin

          Good luck again!

If you haven't done so already, try updating the software of the 255W

              255w

I just got my 255W two days ago. I used the easter egg to start my tracking feature. I was happy to see the tracks were uploaded to Mapsource right away. I'm not smart enough to understand HWID 1091 or even if my 255W is giving me true 1s tracks. I did notice that Garmin recommended I download and install a new version as soon as I registered the unit.

The tracks that mapsource got will mostlikely be "stick on rd" tracks which are, for lack of a better term, pretty useless.

Afaik the 1s tracks will only be gotten with nutrack (I could of course be way wrong)
How to get the upgraded map.

                It's a sick world and I'm a happy man...

                    Sample Track

Here's a sample track. I'm able to upload to my computer running XP; however the one using Vista is refusing to upload anything from the 255W. I'll keep plugging.

                      That is the regular track.

You can get the 1-sec track from the DEBUG folder.

They will be sorted according to date.

It will be a file called GPS.BIN

Use wNutrak.exe to convert the BIN file to GPX.

                      Good Luck.

do what kuya gtv suggest. but this usually applies to the newer model. Newer model store them at the debug folder. if you can't see it on the debug folder, try to look inside the log folder. search for gps.bin

255W HWID 1091 will not make a GPS.BIN in Debug folder. Tried already.

Maybe so, however, I was referring to chiefmizer's 255W who hasn't verified his HWID yet. He could have a different HWID.

                              No GPS.BIN

Mine must be HWID, I'm hitting a block wall at every turn. Urgh! Guess I'll start shopping for a new unit.
