Where'd you buy your 3790?

i seem to have gotten a lemon for my 3790. I loaded the free map and It work only 3 days and just died. I am in the process of trying to send it back with some unhappy comments.

try to charge the battery, maybe the battery gone dead

Went to Transhow last night at Smx-they have a Garmin booth there and price of 3790T was about P17,500.00 Discounted- I think not bad considering Price at Amazon was USD 323 w/ free shipping +you have to pay tax of say 4%+shipping to Manila say P1500, my computation about P16,300

Got my 3790T for $240 BNIB at eBay with free shipping to NY and I normally use Johnny Air Cargo as my Philippines forwarder. I estimate that the shipping from JAC NY to Philippines would be about 700. So all in all, that would be close to 11K Php only =)

If you haven't upgraded to the new OS version of the 3790T, you should. It has a lot of fixes on bugs. My problem at first was it just goes off randomly when I am using it. But after the upgrade it stopped doing that.

Not even close. I got mine for $400 last December in Amazon. Hand carried to the Philippines by a friend. I guess prices are going down eventually.

P16,000 is quite reasonable if you don't want any more hassles like shipping, taxes, and the waiting which is torture right

are you updating through the website? if so, then yes it will take a long time. in my case, the update failed two times so I downloaded the program called Garmin Web Updater. here's the link: http://www8.garmin.com/support/download.jsp. this program will let you download the updated firmware first and then install it to your GPS.

Using webupdater using dsl should take only 15 mins. from 2.5 to 4.1
