    Saving location at your right, but nuvi says location is at left

    Have you experienced saving a particular location at your left side but the nuvi says it is at your right. What could have I done wrong? Do i have to save location looking at a particular direction (like always facing north) so that the saved location would be recorded at its real side.

    thank you

    It may have something to do with the accuracy of your Nuvi at your current location. If the accuracy level is low (high numbers in meters/ft as shown/indicated by your Nuvi), the exact location of your WP may not be shown in your Nuvi. The accuracy depends on several factors. Notable of which are high buildings, foliage and location of your Nuvi inside your car.

      In this case, I would just have to resave the waypoints where I am encountering the problem. Thanks sir. cheers to you.

        i have the same experience with nuvi 200, is'nt it has something to do with a bigger file? at 4mb it gives off correct, when i loaded the 16mb map it began to give off incorrect and slower recalculation.

        another thing i noticed is when entering balintawak NLEX till past toll plaza, the voice went berzerk like a broken cd.

        i will try the 16mb map l8tr if it will go mataranta in balintawak area. hehehe

          The problem you're experiencing is a function (or malfunction) of your Nuvi and not the map. Try setting the map detail to low or normal in your Nuvi.

            Or you can make the necessary adjustments in Mapsource, like moving the waypoint to it's correct location and side of the road... no need to go back and re-save, imo, as long as you're sure which side of the road it's at and it's not too far off from it's actual location, and you've edited it properly before submitting for contribution...

            But it would be a good practice to check your unit's accuracy before marking waypoints, just to be sure if that the accuracy problem is in your Nuvi and not in the roads shown on the roadguide map... if it's the roads that are not accurate based on your observations and if you are very familiar with the area, then please call attention to it in this forum... the nuvi 200's voice really goes berzerk "recalculation, recalctn......

              my setting on navigation is short distance, going north when i set to pampanga it picks the flyover to baesa route and when you're past that bridge "recalctn. recalcltn, recalcltn" and back to normal past blintwk toll plaza. and on entry to bocaue toll plaza till meycyan, i think i get to hear this annoying voice ek-ek.

              amf: sir, how do i set the map detail to low or normal?

              borgie: sir, how do i get to check the units accuracy?

                Set route preference to faster time not shorter distance.

                Map->Map Detail->Normal.

                    Please use your 76csx anytime possible when recording tracks. Thanks.
