Help - Contributor Map doesn't show in my GPSR

    Hi,

    Has anyone encountered this problem?

I've successfully installed and unlocked the contributor's map
using Mapsource 6.15.7. However, when i select the map,
send it to my gpsr, and select the map "Roadguide.ph", the map
doesn't show up properly in my Garmin 1350. All I see is a map
    similar to the PC basemap.

    thanks

Try to go out in the open and let your gps get a satellite lock on your location. If that doesn't work and you still get the basemap, try downgrading to Mapsource 6.13.7. There are some issues with the newer Mapsource releases...

      Hi Borgie,

Thanks for the reply. I tried doing that but it still didn't work.

However after a couple of hours playing around with my GPS, I finally fixed the problem. For everyone's refenece, in case you encouter the same
      problem, here's what i did.

      1. I used Windows explorer to backup and delete the gmapsupp.img in my GPSR.
      2. I then tried resending the map to my garmin using Mapsource.

      regards,

      Francis

if you stored your std map in sd card, it should be deleted first.
it would read the sd card map prior to memory stored map.

FWIW, I always copy the latest map to both SD card and internal memory. I then keep the SD card inside the glove box compartment as backup just in case the internal copy gets messed up for whatever reason.

On the 255W, maps stored in internal memory loads up 3 seconds faster at 11 secs. compared to the same map loaded from an SD card (14 secs.)
            There's no place like 127.0.0.1
