Not an expert in this field...but I remember reading a thread somewhere in this forum that states that if you intend to record tracks and actively contribute to this forum, then get any Nuvi xx5 series navigator. If it's purely for navigation using the FREE map, then any Nuvi xx0 will do.

    I hope this helps.

partly true. tracks from a nuvi are not "upgrade worthy" they can be used for adding small streets but not for adding twisties in the mountains...
How to get the upgraded map.

      It's a sick world and I'm a happy man...

Sir Jan, what about using the "offroad" option in the Nuvi (205 in my case) for recording twisties?

They wouldnt stick on road as it were, but they still wouldnt be 1s interval which is needed for real nice tracks

                Hi!

If you're talking about the latest Garmin compatible and routable Phil map, you can get it here but you need to be a contributor to unlock it. If you want the OpenStreetMap version, you can search for it in Google.

                Does that answer your question?

Save waypoints (Favorites) in your Nuvi. Waypoints are restaurants, gas stations, hotels or any points of interest. Install mapsource and connect your nuvi. Download from your device your saved waypoints and read this: http://www.roadguide.ph/forums/showp...49&postcount=1

Then save the files in gdb format and upload to the appropriate thread. Before saving, make sure you do not include waypoints of your house, your GF's or any other "personal" WPs. HTH.
