question on nuvi 205

good day garmin nuvi gurus. when i was using the roadguide 5.08, map the direction given by my unit was ok, its direct to the point. however, when i downloaded the contributor's map and use it, the unit is leading me to a longer route. im puzzled about it because, for example, when i go to a wypt south of my current location (home) it leads me to north-east-south-west-south then to my destination, instead of directly south. Pls help me figure this out. TIA.

Hi conzky. Did you check your settings? Faster time or shortest distance? Maybe it's not the same setting as before. Try to simulate your routes in mapsource as well using the standard map, then change map to the latest, then recalculate the route to see if the recalculated route deviates too much from the original. Play around with the route settings as well... HTH

hello sir conzky. it means that the road may have been accidentally processed as one way going north.
try to experiment on the route using the route tool. if you make a route from south to north it will be a straight line upwards, but if you make a route from north to south it will make a longer way around aringay road going south then goes back to mc arthur going north. but if you use the 5.17 this does not happen.
pls submit this error at the track and routing corrections thread to be able to correct the one way route (if this road should be a two-way road). and this will be ok on the 1.10 version. HTH.
