Automatic re-routing in Garmin Nuvi 255w

In Nokia N71 Garmin XT, the application recalculates every time we go off-route (it says "recalculating.."). Is there any way to do the same in Nuvi 255w? Seems like I have to manually tap on the "detour" button to recalculate route.

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend.

Can you try continue driving on the "off route" and wait till the nuvi recalculate by itself before pressing detour ? sometimes it takes a little longer....

          i missed your "offroad" statement.
elx221 is right. it will take some time until your near a road.
hard for nuvi to recalculate since there is no road.:sly:
