Wow, this was unexpected but very welcome from Garmin Taiwan. Update released Dec 31! :-)
Nuvi 765TWN 3.0 update
For those who want to get it cheaper, just buy the 765 from the US and just flash it with the taiwan software. (will void your warranty if they find out, just in case you make your nuvi 765T hang or brick)

To make it simpler, you can just get the TWN version like I did.
Changes that are significant to countries classified under Others (Philippines)
1. Fix in ETA (yahooo!)

1. Color of proximity alerts now is color grey black
2. Routing is no longer going around, it now turns left or right when needed.
3. Eco route is now more accurate in its mileage report (compared to my onboard fuel economy meter in the Subaru)
Bugs that have been reported but pending resolution
1. When there is a proximity alert from a custom poi, you cannot select a new destination via map point. Selecting any point will just direct you to the custom poi that is giving you the alert. As soon as the alert is over, map point selection for destination works as it should. This also happens during gps simulation.
