Garmin nuvi 1250t

I just bought a garmin nuvi 1250t in the US. Was wondering how can i upload phil map. downloaded the demo version but after installing it via garminmapinstall the unit will prompt me that it wont unlock the map i just uploaded? need your help how to fix this. im using a macbook btw.

i downloaded garmin roadtrip for mac. it can read the roadguide.ph demo version but won't send to the unit. the program can receive the maps and previous activities like the places i visited when i used it in the US.

can you enlighten me on this coz im not really that familiar?

first of all we have 3 types of maps:
1. roadguide ver 5.17 aka standard map- can be uploaded to gps unit without any unlock key but this is old version.
2. demo map 1.08 - this is latest map but can be opened only in mapsource.
3. contributors map 1.08 - latest map same as demo map and can be uploaded to gps unit but will require unlock key. you should become a contributor to get unlock key.

hi bentspogi, the "Demo Map" is only to compare your contributions... what you need is the "Standard Map" which is in ".img" format. This is the version that you can already load on your device under garmin folder of your gps unit (e.g. x:\garmin) HTH.. Just to add... The "Standard Map" is the limited version... fyi..
