Upload corrections for city points here

    As the title says.

If you reckon a city point is in the wrong place, please upload the correct one here.

no more no less. just a gdb file with the city point.

The city points are the round points with the city names next to them in mapsource... simple lang diba?

If you really want to, please also the point to delete (and name it delete) this can be in the same file.

    Thanks in advance

      Correct Las Pinas City waypoint.

The old one is almost in the boundary of Paranaque and Las Pinas. And it's too far from the Las Pinas seat of power plus not a good point for anyone not familiar with Las Pinas.

What would be a practical place to put a city point?

          Possible choices are :

          1. 0 Km marker. Probably the default for provincial capitals and large cities with such a marker. In Manila, that would be in front of Rizal Monument.

          2. Near the seat of power. Probable at the center of the city near the main access road as it would be awkward to step on city hall poi.

          3. Near Junctions or Highway Exits. In cases where it is the only access road to the city or town?

          Any other suggestions?

            Hi Jan,

Does city points include towns or just the city?

              4. Near the city's major thoroughfare/road/highway.

                  Hi Jan,

I mean is it applicable to all city points regardless the place is a city or a town?

                  Thanks.

Yes, barangay point data would be useful but only if the point is at the barangay center or any known landmark of the barangay and not a randomly selected point. Remember that these points will be used in conjunction with routing navigation. It would not be nice if you route to a barangay point and then upon arriving at your destination you find yourself in the middle of nowhere. There's a nice post by Dave Morrison concerning this, please look it up...
