I downloaded the standard map and was very pleased with the detail of the map so far. I shouldnt get lost when i travel there now. I loaded the maps on my Garmin Nuvi 850 and it work great. I cant thank you enough. Even has some POI.

Welcome to Roadguide and start reading the "how tos" as we all here started when we were newbies.

Sir borgie was correct, you couldn't have loaded the demo map into your unit because the it is for your pc use only to countercheck your contributions before uploading it. It's the standard map that you downloaded and installed in your unit.

You are correct, you should not get lost when you use it (standard map) for navigations but if you become a Contributor, you will find that the updated version is a double treat. Its like compairing an ordinary halo halo againts a special one, of course with ice cream topping.

Hi Guys,I downloaded the .img file and got it onto my nuvi1300. The street names appear on the screen but the actual roads do not appear. I can navigate, get turn by turn directions but the actual streets do not appear. What could be the problem?

Hi vexel9. Pls check your nuvi settings. Maybe it's set to "dim" roads? In xt there is such a setting... HTH

Same thing happens to me. Downloaded the map to my nuvi1460, and can't see the roads also but the street names are there and the POIs.

try uploading again. be careful when selecting the map.
if still fails, try copying img file to your unit in /garmin folder.

I'm a swiss men and i drive a motocross, and i buy an zumo 660 i have an roadmap on it from the philippines but its only 46mb and not so exactly.

so my question - can i find here an exactly card and where??

i already download any "trainings" maps but whats now???

I was just wondering if there is a problem with the download link provided.
I've tried to download the img many times but it never gets completed, it will just stop midway thru the download.
