Hi there. Ok I trust your words :P I'll come and look for you in Philippines if anything happens to my computer haha. Just joking.

Anyway the map is loaded into my Garmin. Man CDO is really empty huh. Hope my guide will bring me around so I can add some POI. Track wise should be complete? How can I help to develop the CDO area besides the POI and roads?

what you have right now is the v5.17 map aka teaser map. this map is not as complete as the one we're using right now.(v1.08 contributors map full version)

how to get v1.08 full version? here are the 1st few steps

download mapsource(if you have already good)
download v1.08 DEMO version (you CANNOT transfer this to your GPS device. this map serve as reference only, so that you'll know what is there or not. so that we can prevent duplicate entry) this is also the map that we use. to get this, you'll have to be a contibutor.(no... not money).
be a contributor in terms of waypoints, tracks, route, polygons. if you think you contribute enough then PM "the judge" and the judge will see if you can be upgraded to a contributor status. if youre upgraded then yu get the map for free.

Ah please don't call me sir Peisqo will do. Yes I've already got Mapsource from before. Ahh so the DEMO version is the full version. Normal user won't be able to upload that to the gps, only for viewing in mapsource. Only contributors get to unlock the demo map to use in the gps navigator. Is that correct?

Hi there Peisqo. CDO is not really "empty" in the standard map. There are quite a number of useful POIs already and the major streets and highways are already there. So you'll be able to use your Nuvi to find your way around CDO even with the standard map. As regards your query how you can help, first priority data are always POIs and roads/tracks, so if you can contribute these, it would help in improving the coverage of our map for CDO and surrounding areas. Second priority would be Google Earth traces. You can trace roads, rivers & etc. Please check out the appropriate threads that discuss how to do this...

You can't use the demo map on your gps. But you can view your waypoints using the demo map to know if they are up to standard.

The best thing to do is to sort your waypoints and upload them to the forum for them to be included in the next map version. Please read the How To section to familiarize yourself on the process.
