Download windows compatible garmin installer of the standard map

I have GIS road maps and I would like to contibute. How do I go about it? My data is 1st order gathered using survey grade Trimble receivers and reference to NAMRIA reference points.

what GIS format? shp? mif? Qgis?
zip and upload the trimble stuff, but it would be unlikely that the NAMRIA stuff would be any good....

I can convert my files to GPX5 files or most formats. BTW these data has been verified and have +/- 2 meters accuracy.

NAMRIA has reference points establish all over the country. We use that as reference for post processing survey grade data. Most of my data is Postprocessed Kinematic GPS data.

Sir im using garmin 276c and i already downloaded the map the philippine routable 5.17 my problem is when im sending the map to the my gps
it says "the required memory for storing maps is missing from your gps" and "if ypur gps uses programmable data card check to make it sure inserted properly"

i wanna know what i will do? do i need to buy memory card using for the maps? and where i can buy it?

im new to this stuff and i hope that this forum can help me

yes you need a mem card (garmin specific).
where? where you bought the gps. else geotech might have some in stock

- waypoints tracks and routes stay in the 276's internal memory. maps go on the data card.

download Here.

After downloading:
- make sure mapsource is closed
- run the exe file
- click yes on default install settings
- start mapsource, select philippines routable in topleft dropdown list

EDIT:

Those who find difficulty in downloading the file, chances are the fault is on your side of the server/connection. I test download the file everyday and it's working fine. Please don't ask the admins/mods to send the file via email because we will not send it anyway.

Try downloading the file at a different time of the day as it might work. Thanks! -amf

How big is the file po, para sure na complete ang download? Kasi I downloaded 3 times na, different ang file size - 9.3mb, 5.1mb, and 6.2mb, ayaw mag work lahat eh?

Ito po ba ang FIRST STEP? then ano na ang gagawin?

First of all I would like to thank you and your team for the great effort and fantastic Garmin add-on that you have produced. You are doing a great service for the people of the Philippines who would otherwise will not have access to this state of the art mapping technology. Again, kudos to your vision!

On another note, people like me who are Filipino but has been living abroad would like to participate and have access to your GPS maps. It will be a tremendous help for us when we visit the Philippines to have access to your map especially after being out of the country for a long time (in my case, 30 years). However, it is a"chicken and an egg" situation for us because unfortunately, we cannot have access to your GPS maps unless we have contributed waypoints, tracks and POI to your mapping project. I hope you will consider some way(s) that people like us can use a "promissory note" so that we access your GPS maps and "pay" (in terms of waypoints, tracks, POI) at a later time once we have landed in PI and have done our data collection.
