You need mapsource to view the map.

    After downloading:
    - make sure mapsource is closed
    - run the exe file
    - click yes on default install settings
    - start mapsource, select philippines routable in topleft dropdown list

    cheers,
    Jan

    EDIT:

Those who find difficulty in downloading the file, chances are the fault is on your side of the server/connection. I test download the file everyday and it's working fine. Please don't ask the admins/mods to send the file via email because we will not send it anyway.

Try downloading the file at a different time of the day as it might work. Thanks! -amf

        ...Corrections?

I was wondering..how could we edit mistakes or add on to the map to further update it? do we have to be a contributor to do it?

Hi mariajpc and welcome to Roadguide. You don't have to be a contributor to edit the map or add more tracks and POIs to the map, you can do so now even with your junior member status. But doing the things mentioned will earn you the contributor's map which is way better than the free standard map. Please go over these very informative thread so you'll understand how things work around here http://roadguide.ph/forums/showthread.php?t=1526 ...

            Hi mariajpc,

You are correct, as a Junior Member you must contribute new tracks, routes, waypoints, polygons, etc to update the map. Furthermore, you can also contribute corrections on existing roads, routes, waypoints, polygons, etc. By the time you got the Contributor status, you have the previledge to dowload the updated version of the map.

            Good luck.

A friend of mine also wants to load the Philippine map to his GPS but I'm having trouble explaining the process to him from beginning to end. He has Mapsource. Can you confirm if these high level steps are correct?

                              1. Download the demo map (jklinc_5.08.exe) from the link provided in this site.
                              2. Install the demo map.
                              3. Open Mapsource and select the Phil map.
                              4. Send the map to GPS using Mapsource.

I'm not completely sure if running the jklinc exe will automatically load the map to Mapsource and create a new gmapsupp file that contain the North America and Philippine maps. Do we need to backup the gmapsupp containing North AMerica before doing step 2?

you can not send demo map ito gps unit, you need an unlock code for that.
what you can send is the std map 5.08. you can copy gmapsupp file to sd card instead of sending thru mapsource.
north america has a different file name as its preloaded.
