please correct thisAttached Files- Bruce LeeEmpty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend.

Lamac - New Road to 'Landslide' and Road to 'Hidden Valley Resort'
Not sure what the is the correct Thread for this?
On our Green Trail Ride #14 we discovered a New Track not on RoadGuide.ph.
This was submitted to RoadGuide.ph under 'New Tracks' and these were subsequently included, but not the included Waypoint marking the Landslide we came across.
Was this because it had NOT been submitted separately into the New Waypoints Thread?
We would not advise tackling that Southern Section where that Landslide is at night and/or it has recently been raining!
- The track had completely gone at one point, but has been 'repaired' with Palm trunk as foundation, and rack wall built up to the height of the missing track and to give it some width. That width is just enough for a solo motorcycle. Bikes with sidecars could not make it (and wide motorcycle like BMW with horizontally opposed engine?).
- South of that repaired landslide, is a rather steep bit with little grip. It probably safest to push a motorcycle up that bit using the engine to help. To ride up that steep bit requires a fair bit of speed due to poor traction. Make a mistake and you and the bike could end up where the land slipped to!
We strongly suggest having that Waypoint on the RoadGuide.ph Map WARNING of that Landslide section.
On GTR#16 we visited Hidden Valley Resort.
The Track and Waypoint did not make it to RG2.01 only the previous submission showing 4x4Track to Lagoon and Waterfalls, where the Locals go for swim.
So consider this fro Track Corrections and New Waypoint submission.

also when submitting waypoint for those, pls indicate "danger area" so i would know what category to assign.
is the landslide permanent? no repairs?
or you mean that it is a "landslide prone area"
pls submit on waypoints thread. thanks.

Clearly the land had slid down at some point in the past (we should have got 'Ben' the Pilipino Riders joining in on GTR#14 to ask the 'Locals' when it happened, and also if that area prone to landslides, but we were just glad we got across and made it up that steep bit beyond, and had other things on out minds when we got to a Sari-Sari store after that.
It had been repaired as I said in the Waypoint 'Description'
Where the part of the track itself had gone, they had laid a palm tree trunk horizontally to act as a foundation, then built a stone 'wall. to add 'width', up to the level of the track But perhaps this not the original level as it dips down at this point ( @ 0.45km in this 'Extract') as you can see in MapSource under Track Profile.
The right hand end of that 'Profile' Extract, is where it intersects with a Road that was on RoadGuide.ph, so it is about 0.65Km North, of that Intersection
This 'repair' has made it wide enough for solo motorcycle - just, at that point.
Check out our GTR#14 Report
There is this Video in that Report that shows how much trouble we had crossing it, in daylight, and before it started raining:-

I have posted to Upload your WAYPOINTS and WAYPOINT CORRECTIONS here for next mapversion with URL Link to same .gdb File Attachment.
This has the Waypoint for the Landslide area that got repaired but rather 'tricky'!
There is also WayPoint for the Entrance to Hidden Valley (sorry if they are not correct but don't have experience of the Format for WayPoint submissions
(seemed a bit 'complicated' having to set it a certain Distance (6m?) from the Road @ 90 Degrees from the Road centre line)
Much better to see that Waypoint WARNING in the approximate spot, then find yourself on that Section with the old Landslide, when it could be too late.
I actually missed a Wayoint showing to turn NW to explore another New Track off that Road with the landslide further along to the South. My Power to USB Adaptor become dislodged with a bump and unlike the 12V Power cable it went into PC Connect mode, than after 20 seconds rebooted and loaded maps. I lost my view of the track right when I should have found the turning. Next thing I see is that RED Waypoint Flag on my Garmin with 'Landslide', so I stopped and turned around as did not want to tackle that on my own.
I also posted to Upload track and routing corrections for next mapversion for the track correction/addition for Hidden Valley ResortLast edited by Britster; 09-14-2011, 16:38.
