Some needs calibration of distance from road centerline.

          N. Ideal distance of waypoints with respect to the road

To be consistent and to make the waypoints look better in the map, please place your waypoints at a distance of 8 to 10 meters (25 to 30 ft) perpendicular from the center of the road.

Please use the "Distance/Bearing tool" in the mapsource. Another method is to move a waypoint perpendicular to road then stick it to the center of the road, then move it again back, but taking note of the distance from the center of the road (take a look at the bottom left corner of your mapsource screen) until it's at least 8-10m from the road.

Please read how and where to put address and telephone number...

          A. How to name your waypoints

if you want to include the address of the poi, do it as follows: mypoi@streetname
example: Jollibee@Makati Ave housenumber if any you put behind the streetname. Jollibee@Jupiter cor Makati Ave (example only)

if you want to include the telephone number of the poi, do it as follows: mypoi#02888888888 (area code + telephone number, without space in between)

if you want to include both: Jollibee@Makati Ave#0288888888 (or whatever the correct address and phone is)

or if a waypoint is located inside a mall or building, use the building itself as the address: Jollibee@2nd Level, SM Southmall (compulsory)

          D. Name field / comment field in Mapsource

What to put in the name field

          a. Correct name of waypoint
          b. Address, if known (using the @ symbol, include only the street number and name). Do not put the town/city name and province in the address, street names only please.
          c. Telephone number, if known using the # symbol. Please include only one telephone number per waypoint.

            hi jaimsitecom,

please read the "waypoint standard" inside the "how to section" to properly mark waypoints

            thanks and good day sir

                    hello sir bushido.
                    1. pls adjust waypoint distances.

                    N. Ideal distance of waypoints with respect to the road

To be consistent and to make the waypoints look better in the map, please place your waypoints at a distance of 8 to 10 meters (25 to 30 ft) perpendicular from the center of the road.

(suggestion by Borgie)

                    2. pls verify with v1.09 demo map since some of your waypoints are already on the map. but if it is a correction of a waypoint, then

                    C. Corrected waypoints

To avoid confusion on my part, when uploading a waypoint that is a correction of an existing one, please include in the comment field the word "correct". It will automatically inform me that...

                    a. This is the correct waypoint after comparing with the demo map
                    b. A delete file for the wrong waypoint is uploaded in the waypoints correction thread
                    c. That I will delete the adjacent similar/duplicate waypoint in the absence of a delete file

                    3. pls check also your icon/symbols. re-check your jollibee (1 used fastfood but the other one used restaurant icon).

                    B. Why assigning proper symbols is important

It will help if proper symbols are assigned. This is true for cases where the waypoint category is an obvious one....banks, fuel stations, restaurants...But in the absence of a clear symbol in Mapsource, we really don't have a choice but to put one that we think is most appropriate.

                    4. if possible, pls include address on your waypoint.

                    A. How to name your waypoints

if you want to include the address of the poi, do it as follows: mypoi@streetname
example: Jollibee@Makati Ave housenumber if any you put behind the streetname. Jollibee@Jupiter cor Makati Ave (example only)

if you want to include the telephone number of the poi, do it as follows: mypoi#02888888888
(area code + telephone number, without space in between)

if you want to include both: Jollibee@Makati Ave#0288888888 (or whatever the correct address and phone is)

or if a waypoint is located inside a mall or building, use the building itself as the address: Jollibee@2nd Level, SM Southmall
                    (compulsory)

it would also be most welcome if the district is included for long streets spanning different places, ex. Jollibee@Edsa, Cubao

here is the source of my info written above.

hello sir jared. pls check your waypoint distances. and if possible, avoid overlapping waypoints (east st louis and kaffecaffe are overlapping). and for your privacy's sake, pls remove your house waypoint before you upload your contribution.
