Hello hbt!

Thank you for your comment/link! I tried doing the 1 sec. track on the nuvi 855 but the 1,2,3,4 won't work on my unit. I read the whole thread but nothing seems to work for me. Even the thread for the 7xx units turned out different for my unit which is 8xx. I kept trying since yesterday but to no avail. I looked all over the net and didn't find anything regarding activating the 1s track for the 855. Also how do you turn off the "stick to road" for the nuvi? I don't have an option for this...

To turn off stick to road, go to routing option then change from your current choice (shorter distance or faster time) to OFF road.
If you cannot get the raw logging to work, a good alternative is to just drive very slowly. You can get more waypoints that way and just equivalent to 1 sec tracks with a faster car.

I havent found any info too about the 855 having the raw logging feature.

Tracks Question

Hello!

I first installed the free map onto my nuvi 855 and onto the mapsource software (routable 5.17). It was only recently that I discovered that I could also install the Roadguide Ph Map v1.09, and boy it was much better! The road design and street names were much better and incorporating one ways and all the good stuffs.

I then noticed that in some areas my tracks were accurate with the v1.09 map while in other areas, my tracks were way off. (Pls view attachments) Would this affect the Waypoints that I'm getting? Should I adjust them based on the deviation of the tracks to the road?

Anybody please help! Thanks!

By default, the nuvi will stick to the road when you have faster time or shorter distance as routing option. Choose OFF Road then you will not stick to the road and get proper tracks for new roads.

8x5 series have very good voice commands and custom avoidance feature in routing. Pare ok yan... :-) If you dont want it, pm me.
