4. Upload

Please confirm.

Thanks.
No need to make a delete file if the location of the poi is already correct. Just put on the name field "Change/Replace icon of POI name". Therefore, no need also to create a new waypoint.

D1. Name field / comment field in Mapsource

What to put in the name field (with addition)

a. Correct name of waypoint
b. Address, if known (using the @ symbol, include only the street number and name). Do not put the town/city name and province in the address, street names only please.
c. Telephone number, if known using the # symbol. Please include only one telephone number per waypoint.
d. The word "Delete", "Rename", "Replace" poi name, etc. if a correction of existing waypoints. To be uploaded in the waypoints correction thread. (Ex. Delete BPI, Rename to Sikatuna, etc...)

pls do submit a correction for that for renaming. mark the street and put in the name field "Rename Rizal St to Bonifacio St"
then submit it at track and routing corrections thread.
pls click the FAQ link below. it will help you in your uploads.

Default Suggestion

Maybe we should also add that discussion regarding POIs with attributes that contributors intend to edit, to reduce the workload, and whether it applies to the following types of POI edits:
a. move POI
b. rename/change icon POI
c. duplicate POI
d. non-existent POIs

Hello newbie here. Hope to make contributions soon. I have been reading the Waypoint Standards document as of April 9, 2010 and one of the suggestions there when naming waypoints is to add the telephone number of the poi. My question is, will adding a telephone number to existing correct poi's but without a telephone number be considered a contribution?

yes. 2 files to be exact
first file contribution is to mark them for delete, submit at waypoint corrections thread.
then second part of contribution (as separate file), using the same waypoints newly named and details added (address/numbers or both) then submit at waypoints thread.

the existing POI/waypoint cannot be edited. the new waypoint created will be your template for editing and after editing it according to standards, submit it at waypoint corrections. may i ask what editing you want to do? as we may be able to guide you.
