you need mapsource to transfer your map to your nuvi.

this will answer most of your questions including how to get things started and how to get the updated map.

but if you aim only to get the standard/free map v1.07 then you can download it here
but if you want to get the most recent v1.13j, then you have to upload data not yet on the map and be a contributor.

Is there someone who knows to configure GPS Garmin Nuvi 1300? It was

Butting in to try to help... as usual.

1. Virtually all GPS Receivers will work in the philippines, sometimes you need to wait a bit (after you turn on your unit) for the GPS to "learn" where it is, but it will find where it is eventually.

2. The only configuration you will need to do is download the free map, you can find it in the Link given by Kuya HBT. What you do if you don't want to install any software yet is to download the map img file and transfer it to your micro SD card using a card reader.

Plug it in your nuvi device and you should be able to see the Philippine map.

i also have a nuvi but of different model, try this if it would help you. select a right thread on the forums, it has links there where you can download the PI map and also some has a step by step direction on how to download it. im not a comp. genius but thats what i did on mu nuvi and it worked.

Were you able to view the map already on mapsource? If not, then you need to do a few more steps, download training center and install it, then download mapsource version 6.15.7. details are here:

If you say yes, then you should be able to see what version you downloaded on mapsource on upper left hand of mapsource screen.

Because you are still a Junior Member, I assume that you have not yet contributed and not a contributor thus you cannot yet download the contributor's map, which means you have version 1.07 which is the latest openly available free map from RG. If you want the latest map, you need to contribute first. All these can be read here:

You could also view the latest contributor's map, by downloading the demo version of the contributor's map, again check out the link above for more info.
