2015 Holyweek Trip TIPS for NEWBIES and Contributors

No, I am not going to offer tips on what to prepare for your travels, I would like to offer tips on how to prepare for Mapping During your Travels This way, newbies and fellow contributors alike can gather enough POI/Waypoints and other Map contents to contribute.

I just want to share my "technique".

    1. Make sure you have the latest map version in your GPS.
    2. Make sure you have the latest map version in your PC or computer, for newbies please download the latest Demo Map here: http://roadguide.ph/forums/showthrea...atest-Demo-Map

    3. (IMPORTANT STEP)- Before you actually leave, you should already check out the area using Basecamp or Mapsource along your route and destination. SPECIALLY your destination.

    4. While looking at the map in your PC (Basecamp or Mapsource) make sure you take note of areas that do not have much POI or Waypoints yet. Just a mental Note.

    5. (IMPORTANT TIP) check out nearby areas for streets without Street names. Without telling you guys where I am going this week, I have already identified 2 towns which has a lot of RD as road names, this is a gold mine for mapping. Just drive around and save the road names in your GPS

    6. Before you actually start driving away on your trip, make sure you turn on your 1Sec Tracking or Easter Egg, so you can gather as much 1sec tracks as possible, and who knows you might see a road that is not yet in the map and be the first to Trace it.

    1Sec track info here:http://roadguide.ph/forums/showthrea...aka-easter-egg

    7. Last and most importantly, everyone please have a safe trip!
